The Records Section contains many transcripts of records not usually available online elsewhere, which are provided here as an exclusive benefit to members. Further information on each sub-category is available in the MOA, but a more detailed guide to the background of each may by found in the Poor Law Reference section (kindly written by Anne Cole).
Some of the documents transcribed may be a few pages, whereas others may be far larger (100+ pages). Some documents in the archives are in poor condition and unstable so are not fit for normal viewing. We have negotiated special viewing of these documents to enable a transcription to be made.
A project is underway to index the documents for inclusion in the YBI and the documents that have been indexed are shown by a different icon on the document link.
